Silver Stars 17U fall to the bottom of the seventh | News, Sports, Jobs

Tyler Silver Stars Varsity, 17U, lost a close game in the late seventh inning to Doddridge County on Wednesday, June 23 by the score of 4-3. Owen Westbrook suffered a loss for the Silver Stars. Westbrook played 3 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on six hits and three strikeouts. Carson Gordy started the game for the Silver Stars. The right-hander worked three innings, allowing two runs and two hits, striking out four and walking one. Mason Nichols scored two for three at home to lead the Silver Stars in hitting. The 17U Silver Stars will be back in action on Wednesday night, June 30 at the grounds of Tyler Consolidated High School at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Silver Stars Baseball will be in action in the Beast of the East 2021 tournament. This national event has been a destination for teams across the country for several years and dozens of college contenders participate each year. The Silver Stars will compete in the 16U Division and kick off their games on Thursday July 1 at 10:30 am against The Dirtbags and a second at 1:00 pm against Bruisers Cowle Post 151, both at Bridge Park in Wheeling WV. The SilverStars baseball program is honored to participate in this coveted event and intends to make it a mainstay of its annual calendar.
