Silver City Public Library to Host Ice Cream Social Event | New

(Silver City) – The Silver City Public Library will be having an Ice Cream Party Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Lynda Thomas from the Silver City Public Library joined the KMA Morning Show to talk about the event.

“This is our main fundraiser for our library here in Silver City,” continued Thomas. “With the funds we raise, it helps provide a lot of community services. We have a summer reading program, Arthur Talks, giveaway, parties and Halloween parties.

Fundraising has already started with many auction items up for grabs.

“Basically with this fundraiser we got donations from Glenwood, Treynor, Iowa City, like tickets to Iowa Football,” Thomas said. “I think it’s going to be a good time, and generally we are having a good time here in Silver City with our Made Rites, our ice cream, our pies, etc.”

The event will also include a free will offering. Food options will also include a potato salad, fries and cakes. Along with the auction, a raffle will also take place.

Again, the event is Sunday (September 12) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Silver City Fire Hall. You can hear the full interview below.
