The two sales tax holidays run from Saturday, May 29 at 12:01 a.m. to Monday, May 31 at 11:59 p.m.
The Texas Comptroller’s Office estimates that Texas buyers will save about $ 13.4 million in state and local sales taxes over the weekend.
“Obsolete water systems and inefficient fixtures, along with triple-digit temperatures, can put tremendous strain on our water supplies and power grids,” Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said in a statement. Release. “By taking advantage of these sales tax exemptions, Texans can make upgrades that will help alleviate these pressures and lower their utility bills – while saving money on state and local sales taxes. “

During the holiday season, shoppers can purchase any duty-free product that displays a WaterSense label or logo. These items can be purchased for personal or business use. Texans can also purchase certain water conservation products tax free during the holiday season. Unlike WaterSense® labeled items, these items are only exempt when you purchase them for use in residential property.
