If you are a Raiders fan, you will never tire of hearing the stories of the late and legendary Al Davis.
The Raiders godfather was a Hall of Fame figure as well as an NFL icon, the stories are endless and former Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell recently shared a story about the Next round about Davis who is hilarious and totally believable.
Campbell, who was the Raiders quarterback from 2010-2011, said during a game against the Seattle Seahawks in 2010 he was told on the sidelines that he had a phone call. He thought he was a position trainer. To his surprise, the voice on the other end of the line was not Davis’. The owner had a room he wanted Campbell to run. Campbell was hesitant and Davis, in no uncertain terms, made it clear he wanted a certain room.
Campbell timidly stepped into the squad and pleased wide receiver Darius Heyward-Bey to open up on this bombshell game. The result? Landing, Raiders.
The Raiders beat Seattle, 33-3, on Halloween that day. Davis died the following October.
What a legend.
