PM Modi to address TRAI’s Silver Jubilee celebrations on May 17

On May 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at a ceremony commemorating the silver anniversary of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Modi will deliver his speech via videoconference at 11 a.m. In addition, the Prime Minister will issue a commemorative postage stamp.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India Act 1997 established the TRAI in 1997.

During the session, Modi will also unveil a 5G test bed, which was built as a multi-institute collaborative initiative led by IIT Madras. Among the other institutions involved in research (CEWiT).

Water supply will be affected in Delhi from May 17

In the face of rising temperatures, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said on Monday that the capital’s water supply would be cut off from Tuesday. According to the authorities, the Yamuna has “almost dried up”, reducing the production capacity of water treatment plants in Wazirabad, Chandrawal and Okhla.

“Due to the depletion of Yamuna pond level at Wazirabad Water Works 669.40 feet from the normal level of 674.50 feet and reduction of raw water discharge by Haryana into the Yamuna River, the Water production has been affected by water treatment plants in Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla Water supply will be affected from the morning of 17.05.2022 until the pond level return to normal,” the DJB said in a statement.

Indian Embassy in Ukraine will resume operations outside Kyiv from May 17

India said on Friday that its embassy in Ukraine would reopen on May 17 in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. Since mid-March, the Embassy has been temporarily based in Warsaw, Poland.

“The Indian Embassy in Ukraine, which was temporarily operating from Warsaw (Poland), would resume its activities in Kyiv from May 17,” the foreign ministry said.

He said the embassy was temporarily moved to Warsaw on March 13.
