Ozark season 4 trailer shows the Byrdes trapped by the cartel

The Ozark Season 4 trailer shows the Byrdes trying to escape the cartel once again, but they won’t be able to get out without blood flowing first.

In the Ozark season 4 trailer everyone commits a crime and a member of Marty’s family could be the one to betray him in the end. With Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, Ozark follows the Byrde family, now prominent figures in the titular mountain community. Their adventures in the Ozarks allowed them to launder millions of dollars for Navarro Cartel and Ozark Season 3 saw them take root more than ever in the relationships of cartel boss Omar Navarro.

While the show’s first two seasons received a warm reception from critics, Ozark Season 3 has become a critical darling thanks, in part, to its layered storytelling and Linney’s stellar performance as Matriarch Byrde Wendy. The introduction of Wendy’s brother, Ben, also added an interesting wrinkle, as the Byrdes hoped to keep their lives from falling apart after their new casino boat was investigated by the FBI. Ozark Season 3 ended with a major cliffhanger – as they hoped to escape the clutches of the cartel, Navarro brings them back, taking them to Mexico to assassinate Helen, his affair, right in front of them.

Now, Netflix dropped the Ozark season 4 trailer and it seems to be as brutal as ever. Picking up directly after the events of the Season 3 finale, the show appears to put Marty and Wendy at the heart of the game as Omar Navarro seeks safety in the United States. Of course, his efforts to come safely to the United States will involve making a deal with the FBI, which doesn’t seem likely given the loyal agent involved in Bryde’s affairs. There’s also Ruth to face after her betrayal at the end of Season 3, making Ozark season 4 a stacked season with the potential for conflict. Watch the video below:

The Season 4 trailer also hints at finding Ben. After Wendy apparently led him to his death in Season 3, many fans believed that OzarkBen might not really be dead after all. His death was never shown on screen and he could be used as a pawn against the Byrdes by the cartel. Whether or not this comes to fruition remains to be seen, but the Ozark The trailer for season 4 is nevertheless packed. The Byrdes are fighting for their lives – as usual – but with the series ending with the final two-part season, the stakes are higher than ever.

The trailer and the logline for Ozark season 4 also hints at a betrayal of the family – “Marty and Wendy get rid of Helen and climb to the top of the Navarro Empire. They find another opportunity to come out of the Ozarks, but some past sins will not remain buried and the most dangerous threats come from the blood.“The clip seems to hint that this betrayal could come from their son, who looks anxious to work with Ruth in the trailer, but could it be another tease Ben is alive after all? With just 14 remaining episodes of the series (and part 1 of Ozark Season 4 kicks off Jan.21), things will move at a pretty rapid pace and it’s unclear what the next step is for the Byrdes.
