The Silver Promotion Service (SPS), which was introduced in 2008 by the Washington, DC-based Silver Institute to drive demand for silver jewelry in major international markets, has launched a revamp of its website, SavourSilver.com.
The updated site was designed to be a “resource for all things money,” according to a statement prepared by the organization.
A new Money News The section takes you to short articles with images that cover news about money, such as the passing of designer Elsa Peretti and Samuel B. winning a CASE award. The new Silver Trends tab takes you to product summaries under such topics as bridal jewelry for high neck lines (exciting earrings) and polished pendants (necklaces with plus size pendants) .
And the new Events and Programs section brings you virtual silver jewelry shows, including the Virtual Silver Pavilion, as well as SPS Partner collections presented in a trade catalog style. The new tab also features content from business and consumer publications on everything from reopening after pandemic shutdowns to data on how modern brides shop.
While the revamped site is full of useful and educational information, it can be hard to find stuff quickly, for example, I can’t find the main trends page I was studying five minutes ago! And the images on the site might need to be reinforced; the photos are too small in most sections, there are too many splashing logos and there are graphical / photo composites that look like advertisements but are actually editorial content which can sound offensive.
Either way, SavorSilver.com is a great starting point for retailers looking to increase their stores’ silver inventory span. The brands SPS partners with, such as Adel Chefridi and Gabriel New York, are true innovators in the money business.
“The Silver Promotion Service is honored to serve the jewelry industry as a source of excellent collections of silver jewelry, retail research data and timely merchandising information,” said Michael Barlerin , director of SPS, in a statement. “Updates from [the website] directly benefit retailers with easy, efficient access to the information they need and the on-trend silver styles they are looking for.
