Money alert issued for 85-year-old man last seen in Sun City West

A silver alert was issued for an 85-year-old man after he failed to show up for breakfast with his daughter in Peoria on Saturday morning.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office officials said John Mac was last seen leaving his residence near Horseman Lane and 151st Avenue in Sun City West around 6 a.m. in his Hyundai Elantra 2018 red with Arizona license plate “CHS6790”.

Mac may have been wearing a white t-shirt, black athletic shorts and a baseball cap, the sheriff’s office said. He is 5 feet 8 inches, 180 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Mac’s daughter said he spoke to her on Friday and was delighted to meet her for breakfast the next morning. When she arrived at the agreed place on Saturday, he was not there.

She then drove to Mac’s residence in Sun City West and found neither her father nor her car. A neighbor said he saw Mac leave in his car around 6 a.m. but had not seen him since, the sheriff’s office said.

Mac’s daughter said this was “unusual behavior” for Mac and feared he would get lost while driving. She also said he was diabetic and left his medication at home.
