A FUGITIVE cartel lord wanted in 200 countries has been arrested after his model girlfriend posted his picture on social media.
Brian Donaciano Olguin Berdugo – better known as Pitt, 39, was arrested at an apartment complex in the city of Cali, in the Colombian department of Valle del Cauca.
His arrest came after his model girlfriend, with whom he spent several nights together in a luxury apartment, shared his photo on her Facebook account.
The Mexican national reportedly arrived in Colombia to broker cocaine deals with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC) on behalf of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel.
According to a local media trafficker, Bedrugo dropped all security protocols while with the unnamed model.
She even convinced him to visit the popular tourist site Cerro de los Cristales where he was photographed with her.
His fate was sealed when agents from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informed Colombian Narcotics Police of the suspect’s location.
Additionally, security cameras at Jose Maria Cordova International Airport captured him with another attractive woman, according to reports.
Colombian intelligence agents then began following Berdugo and, after nearly two weeks of surveillance, arrested him.
Police spokesman General Jorge Vargas Valencia said: “We believe that this result has been the most important in terms of capturing Mexican cartel delegates who come to commit drug trafficking crimes with the FARC in the Cauca.”
The Mexican drug lord is being held with an extradition order to the United States.
Lawyers are working to prevent his extradition while police reportedly claim he was offered $265,000 as a bribe for his release.
The Sinaloa Cartel is one of the most notorious drug gangs in the world, alongside their rivals Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
Last February, a man who confessed to helping the cartel dissolve countless corpses in acid was released from prison.
And earlier, the leader of the cartel called “El Cano” was arrested at a chicken shop following a fight that left two people dead.
