The Detroit Lions lost running back star Andre Swift to a shoulder injury early to the Chicago Bears at Thanksgiving, and they lost another horrific game to fall to 0- 10-1 in the 2021 season. The good news is that it looks like Swift’s shoulder injury isn’t serious, with Reporting by Ian Rapaport of NFL Network that running back is day to day.
Swift had three carries for zero yards and three catches for nine yards before leaving Thursday’s game. Jamaal Williams got the heavy lifting with Swift, rushing 15 times for 65 yards. Lions head coach Dan Campbell called Swift’s injury a sprained shoulder after the game.

Detroit was fortunate enough to secure that elusive first victory of the season over Chicago, with a 14-13 third quarter lead. However, the Lions abandoned a long race that lasted 8:30 a.m. finals to lose to a basket at the end of the time limit. Appalling clock management only added to the embarrassment and helped the Bears run the clock to the end before the game winner.
While Detroit has been the laughing stock this season, Swift has been a silver lining. He’s run for 555 yards and four touchdowns on 140 carries this season, and he’s done a lot of damage as a receiver with 56 catches for 429 yards and a pair of scores.
The Lions will look again for their first victory in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings. Swift will have a bit more time to recover after playing Thanksgiving, so Detroit is hoping he can prepare for the next game.
