JAMMU, July 17: Chain Singh and other snipers including Sanjeev Rajput and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar clinched the silver medal in the men’s 3-position (3P) team event at the World Cup ISSF Shooting World in Changwon, South Korea, today.
The Indian trio, who had finished second in the qualifying phase, faced a strong team from the Czech Republic in the gold medal match. But despite a good fight, the Indians lost 12-16 against the trio Petr Nymbursky, Filip Nepejchal and Jiri Privratsky.
It is pertinent to mention here that Chain Singh is a resident of Bhalessa (Doda) representing India in the ongoing Shooting World Cup and excelled with other team members in the 50m team event 3-position rifle, in which more than 90 countries participate.
With this achievement, Chain Singh brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir as well as the country by winning the silver medal in the 50 meter rifle team event.
DDC Vice Chairman Sangeeta Bhagat hailed Bhalessa Doda sniper Chain Singh for making the nation proud.
He had won more than 90 medals in national and international events including 11 gold medals, 4 silver medals and four bronze medals in international events. He represented the country at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil and the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
