All lanes of US 34 east of Kersey closed after an early fatal crash


WELD COUNTY, Colorado – Two people died in an accident Thursday morning a few miles east of Kersey along US 34.

Fully Ivan Alvarado of the Colorado State Patrol said the accident was reported at 2:24 a.m. A vehicle rolled during the accident. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, he said. It wasn’t clear if they were the drivers of every car or had driven together.

All lanes on US 34 going east and west on County Road 69 will be closed from 6 a.m.

Alvarado said there was no ETA to reopen.
